On a past trip to Washington DC we used the Metrorail to get around. This system provides transit service for more than 700,000 people per day and is the second busiest system in the United States.
It has six color coded rail lines: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Silver, and Orange, to say it was a little tricky would be an understatement. You not only had to know your desired stop but you had to figure out which color your "line" was by knowing the destination at the very end of the line.
That explains why it was a familiar scene to see tourists ( including Ed and I) standing there studying the map to make sure we weren't hopping on a train headed in the wrong direction.
Thankfully we had several people pause from their busy day and ask, "Where you wanting to go? Then they proceeded to help us!
One day as we were entering the station I was looking up and noticed a flashing sign above where we were boarding that seemed to explained everything, it read "Know Before You Go!"
Wow, What a great slogan for the Metrorail but then again what a great moto for life. I don't know about you but every day I head off in all different directions and although I might be aware of where I'm headed at the moment, have I truly considered if that path will ultimately get me to my desired end destination.
Proverbs 20:24 tells us "The very steps we take come from God; otherwise how would we know where we are going?"
Have you considered where you are going today? I don't mean just the little stops along the way, but the ultimate destination at the end of the line.
God is waiting to help you find your way, in fact His Word was written so that each of us could "Know before we go!"
